Enjoy these fun beach day inspired toddler art projects at home. We are talking sand, ocean water, sea creatures, and more. These activities will encourage kids to get comfortable with an uncomfortable texture- gritty sand. They will also get to explore the different ways we can use materials to make a beach and the ocean. These projects are some of my favorites because of the bright, beautiful colors! Beach Scene
Materials
- 9”x12” Watercolor Paper
- Tissue Paper Squares - Blue
- Sand
- Bowls
- Trays
- Glue - Liquid
- Sea Shells
- Flip Flop Cutouts
- Starfish Cutouts
Instructions
Cover your paper with glue. Make one side the ocean with blue and green tissue paper. Cover the other side with sand. Top with seashells, flip flops, and a starfish.
Aquarium
Materials
- Paper Plates
- Contact Paper
- Scissors
- Blue and Green Tempera Paint
- Glue
- Plates
- Paint Brushes
- Aquarium Gravel
- Tissue Paper
- Fish Stickers
- Masking Tape
Instructions
Paint one paper plate with tempera paint and decorate with the aquarium gravel, tissue paper, and fish stickers. Cut the middle out of the other paper plate and cover with contact paper. Tape the plates together.
Contact Paper Ocean

Materials
- 9”x12” Watercolor Paper
- Plates
- Liquid Glue
- Tempera Paint - Blue, Green, White
- Wacky Art Tools
- Mini Starfish
- Green Shredded Paper Filler
Instructions
Create different textures on your paper with wacky brushes. Add shressed green paper to make seaweed.
Seashore
Materials
- 9”x12” Watercolor Paper
- White Crayons
- Watercolor Paint
- Paint Cups
- Paint Brushes
- Glue
- Sand
- Seashells
Instructions
Make a beach on one side of your paper. Draw with a white crayon on the other side then cover with watercolor paint.
