Bugs in Spring

Materials

  • 9”x12” Watercolor Paper
  • Watercolor Paint Pallet
  • Paint Cups
  • Paint Brushes
  • Craft Sticks
  • Glue
  • Cotton Balls
  • Yellow Pompom
  • Foam Bug Stickers

Instructions

Use watercolor paint to paint an outdoor background. Glue craft sticks to make a fence. Add a yellow pompom to make a sun and cotton balls to make clouds. Add bug stickers to complete your project.

Coffee Filter Butterfly

Materials

  • Coffee Filter Butterflies
  • Trays
  • Paint Cups
  • Liquid Watercolor
  • Pipetts
  • Craft Sticks
  • Pipe Cleaners
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Plates
  • Paint Brushes

Instructions

Add watercolor to a coffee filter butterfly, then add antennae and to a craft stick and glue to your butterfly.

Painting with Bugs

Materials

  • 9”x12” Paper
  • Fluorescent Paint
  • Squeeze Bottles
  • Plastic Bug Toys

Instructions

Squeeze paint on your paper and dip your bugs into paint. Use your bugs like a paint brush and see what you can make.

Symmetry Butterflies

Materials

  • White Cardstock
  • Squeeze Bottles
  • Fluorescent Paint
  • Blue Paper
  • Glue
  • Plates
  • Paint Brushes
  • Cotton Balls

Instructions

Cut out butterflies on cardstock. Squeeze paint on them, fold them in half, then open to reveal the symmetrical design. Glue to paper and add cotton ball clouds.

Get the Bugs!

Materials

  • White Paper
  • Bug Stickers
  • Fly Swatters
  • Fluorescent Paint
  • Plates

Instructions

Cover your paper with bug stickers, then swat at them with paint covered fly swatters.

Spin Art Snails

Materials

  • Spin Art Machine
  • Spin Art Paper
  • Squeeze Bottles
  • Tempera Paint
  • Cardstock- White, Black, and any color you want your snails to be
  • Glue
  • Plates
  • Paint Brushes

Instructions

Use a spin art machine to make colorful shells for your snails. Glue everything on your paper to assemble.
