Watercolor Flowers

Painting with Flowers

Use real flowers to spread paint and discover all the fun and cool textures you can create.

Dandelions

Materials

  • 9”x12” Paper
  • Black Markers
  • Glue
  • Bowls
  • Paintbrushes
  • Cotton Balls
  • Sushi Grass

Instructions

Use a black marker to draw dandilion stems. Glue cotton balls and sushi grass to complete the project.

Lily Pad Pond

Materials

  • 9”x12” Watercolor Paper
  • White Crayon
  • Green, Blue, and Purple Tissue Paper Squares
  • Spray Bottles
  • Pink, Yellow, Green, and White Cardstock
  • Glue
  • Bowls
  • Paint Brushes

Instructions

Draw pictures on the paper with white crayon- you won't see it now but you will later! Place tissue paper on top of your paper and spray it with water. Remove the tissue paper squares once the color has bled through. Use card stock to make a lily pad to add to your pond.

Pull String Flowers

Materials

  • Bowls
  • Fluorescent Tempera Paint
  • String
  • Scissors
  • Paint Brushes
  • 9”x12” Paper
  • Trays

Instructions

Cover string in paint and place between a piece of paper folded in half. Slowly pull the string out and open to reveal your flower.
